The combination of a tough, windproof PERTEX® QUANTUM outer and high-loft pile lining creates a system that’s warm, breathable, and highly weather resistant; even when working hard in cold, damp environments. PERTEX® QUANTUM

Windproof, soft to the touch and 100% recycled. PERTEX® QUANTUM is constructed in a tightly woven structure to provide windproof protection and trap still air inside the jacket.The fabric is lightweight, packable and soft to the touch. Finished with a non-fluorocarbon water repellent which allows the fabric to shed light rain and snow, allowing the jacket to provide weather protection in adverse conditions.The fabric is constructed using highly abrasion resistant nylon ripstop, incorporating reinforcement yarns to provide durable resistance to tearing, helping the fabric to withstand harsh mountain environments.

What has changed with the updated version of the Extreme?

The Extreme range has been updated to feature a 100% recycled outer fabric. The Montane logo has been updated to a solid colour. There have been slight adjustments to the seams for a better fit and increased durability. The elbow area has been reduced in size for a neater fit. On the Extreme Smock the removable crotch strap is no longer a feature.

Simply the best!
This was to replace my ten year old Montane Extreme Jacket which i still wear every day whilst outdoors. Sadly, i had a small tear in the front that will repair but thought it was time for a new one. Great Joy! the new one is just as i had hoped, perfect. Thank you Montane.

Will take a hammering and still keep going
I bought the Extreme Jacket as an absolute no brainer, like-for-like replacement for my trusted old one, which took a battering in the hills for over 20 years. Finally I had ripped the shell, forcing me to replace it. When I was introduced to Montane Extreme jackets as a concept, compared to layering up, I was skeptical to say the least. But six days camping in the Scottish highlands in full winter condition (-20s) blew away my doubts forever. Since that point I've encouraged many others to buy Montane. The new jacket is actually improved in many small details that make a difference - for example the fleece quality is improved, the pockets are deeper, and the zip functionality and jacket closure is a big leap. No doubt I will hammer away with confidence for another 20 years, well into my 70's!
