Our wind-resistant RAPTOR FLEX softshell fabric is 88% recycled and is teamed up with an Octa fleece-lining for a durable, highly breathable system that excels at managing moisture, and keeping you warm without overheating. Montane’s RAPTOR FLEX softshell is made from 88% nylon (recycled) and 12% elastane plain weave with a PFC-free DWR coating to deliver wind and water resistance, and highly breathable performance to the Men’s Khamsin Hoodie.

OCTA FLEECE. Lightweight Breathable Warmth. 

The innovative structure of the fibres in the Octa fleece lining means that it excels in efficient thermal and moisture management, to keep you warm without overheating. Octa fleece’s quick-drying, breathable and lightweight qualities, makes it an ideal partner for RAPTOR FLEX, allowing the fabrics to work together with high levels of stretch to ensure unrestricted movement during dynamic mountain activities.

    Surprisingly Good

    Picked this up without expecting too much as I'm not familiar with softshell jackets. I have experience with the Octa lining so I knew that was good.

    First outing was walking on a cold (2-3°) summit with the wind howling, just a base layer underneath. When static I was too cold as expected but when active it blocked the wind impressively while regulating my temperature much better than a windshirt or hardshell would have. Second outing was a 10° gentle stroll, warmth was perfect, got caught in unexpected showers and the DWR held off the rain impressively for 30 minutes till I got back. The fabric is so stretchy it makes it very comfortable to wear. The penalty of the softshell fabric is the weight, this is no exception. The hood and hem adjustments are excellent. Recommended

    Stylisch, warm und widerstandsfähig

    Die Jacke hält was aus! Spaß Raufen mit meinem Presa Canario kein Problem. Pferde ausmisten alles gut. Querfeldein durchs Unterholz der Portugiesischen Wälder auch gut. Manchmal ist sie zu warm und ich schwitze. Doch selbst dann hält sie warm und den Wind draußen. Subjektiv liebe ich das matte Militär Grün. Daher hatte sie leichtes Spiel mit mir. :))
